Back To School Box Card…

Hi everyone! I’m going to work on getting some stuff I’ve made for grands posted!  We’ll see how it goes.

Last week one of my older sisters passed away, funeral was Saturday.  So hard but good to visit with family and friends I haven’t seen for a long time.  So I’m behind posting for Memory Box too but I’ll be making this week!

I made these three box cards for our three grands that attend school.  Our others are home educated.

It was fun to use the library cards that I bought from Starlitstudio.net. I love to read so of course I needed them in my stash!  They worked out perfectly in these box cards!

The box card is a file I cut with my Scan n Cut from Lori Whitlock HERE

My Scan n Cut doesn’t print so if you want to print the numbers you have to get a pdf by emailing for it… or I can send you what they sent me.

The paper bags I put money in are also from Starlitstudio.net

The library card and the bag slide in the box, then it collapses and will fit into an envelope! So cute!

I have some post it notes that are all over sticky on the back so I die cut them and stamped the sentiment for the bag.  The push pin is part of the card file.

It was fun to make something different!

I can’t remember now if I inked the apples or colored them with Copics!

I used a Lawn Fawn alphabet set for their names, a date stamp and another sentiment on the library card.  I printed the grandma and grandpa.

Holler if you have any questions!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Have a beautiful week…we’re trying not to blow away… so windy this Fall here in Iowa.  Before long the leaves will be dropping and blowing all over the place!

Here’s a pretty picture of the bluffs in the Missouri River area of Iowa…

Time for SSPC…but what is it???

Yes,  It’s a MOUSETRAP!   Have you seen gals altering them yet?  I’ve seen a few and it just struck me today that it would be fun to have one on the frig!  Write on the note paper and then just pull that page out… the other pages stay put!  No need to worry about getting snapped at!  = )

The challenge at Sweet Stamping Pixies this month is a recipe….flowers, ribbons and die cuts.  I didn’t do very well on the plural of these ingredients but at least I have more than one flower!  Counting all the flowers on the ribbon!  We’d love to have you play along!  There’s always an awesome prize!

The alphabet stamp in the background is from Paperbag Studios HERE, stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and edged with Walnut Stain Distress ink… love their stamps!  The flower is an old Provo Craft brad… the ribbon is old, from American Crafts.  The mouse trap is even old! lol  I used Simone’s ribbon technique… I stamped Lucy and the pencil in Memento Rich Cocoa Brown ink.  Jay Jay and Simone stamp in brown ink a lot so I have just had to try it lately!  I like it!  They are colored with Copic Sketch markers

A long time ago I asked Tori Wild for her red hair color combo and I found the paper where I had it written down the other day!  I did add another color but I do like this combo a lot!  I’ve used it before but you know how it is… stuff gets lost on the messy desk! ugh!

Tori’s red hair – YR21, E97, E08 and I added E09 last

Skin –  YR0000, E0000, 000, 00, 21, 11, 13  Cheeks – diluted R20 and R30

Shirt – B60, 63, 69 – G0000, BG23, 32, 43

Khakis – E41, 42, 43, 44

Shoes – E43, 44, 47, 49

Pencil – Y21, 23, E30, 31, E11, 13, 15

I put a piece of adhesive back magnet sheet on the back, the size of the trap.  Cut the history outline paper at 2 in. x 4.5 in., die cut them with the My Favorite Things notebook die and stuck them in the trap!

The week is off to a great start!  YEA!  I do have extra happy news too!  Amanda and Cedryk were able to come home Saturday!  Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!  They were deeply appreciated and helped get them home I’m sure!
