Pretty Emma…

Emma says take a seat in my living room….meet pretty Emma from CC Designs new Take a Seat Kit.  I’ve been thinking about what I wanted to do with the living room scene stamp for a few weeks now.  I have always loved what I call interactive stamps…anyone have a cooler description for me? (coordinating and companion are more ideas…  Stamps that work together to create scenes, challenge me! I’m hoping my photos show what I’ve done.  I paper pieced pretty much everything.  Emma is colored with Copic Sketch Markers.  I stamped her legs twice and popped them up. The arms of the chair are stamped on the pattern paper twice and popped up.  The lamp shade is stamped twice and part popped up and then then I cut a piece from the stool and glued it on the shade to jazz it up!

Here it is straight on…

The papers I used are double sided from a K & Co. card tablet… I fell in love with this tablet and purchased three so I would be ok using one!  ugh!  what is it with hoarding stuff anyway! lol  The flower is from Prima.  The little scallop border is a Martha Stewart around the page set and I just wanted the itty bitty scallop showing. The sentiment is from the Amy R Beach set.  The tags are a Stampin Up punch.

Here’s a view from the top….

I wanted to use the footstool but I just couldn’t quite get the perspective right for placing it under her feet.  So it is the accent piece on the easel bottom panel.  It needs a message but I’m not sure what I’ll use this for yet,  so after trying things for a couple hours I decided to wait! lol

I’m linking my card to the following challenges…

I ♥ Recess and the Sweet Stop Sketch…

The option to add to the sketch at Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge blog this Saturday is “back to school”.  I didn’t go with an apple or books this time but another favorite icon/subject… recess!  Lala on a swing is delighted to be all dressed up in her new school clothes and enjoying recess!

I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored her with Copic Sketch Markers.  Skin, E000, 00, 01 and a diluted R20 & 000 combo.  Hair, the  E50’s,  Dress, the BGO’s.  Eyes, B41, 45.  The paper is from Making Memories, the {note}worthy pack.  The branch from Stampin Up is punched three times and combined.  Flowers are the retro flower punch from EK Success,  the Leone Em Ash Branch and a small leaf punch.  The alphabet stamps I used to stamp the sentiment are from MaVinci.net and called “it’s just my type”.  The little heart is from a PSX little desk set.  I edged the papers with Antique Linen Distress ink and the Tim Holtz ink blending tool.

discover your place in the SUN….

Lucky from Lala Land Crafts HERE has found relaxing in the pool to be the place to be in the Sun!  Isn’t this a great sentiment?!  It’s new from Printworks.  Order by email HERE or by phone.  E4050 Discover Your Place is the code and name of the stamp.

oh wow!  I can’t believe I’m finally posting this card… I fiddled with it forever and I’m still thinking it’s gonna be classified as a “do-over”!!! lol  Just picked the wrong papers! Last time I used these papers I really liked the card!  It’s HERE. The real kicker is the sketch I started out with and tried to stick to!  I’m tempted to link to it anyway,  just because I tried so hard! lol

The words “relax” and “enjoy”  come with Lucky along with another sentiment.  So fun to color… I used the E30’s and BG0’s for the pool.

Here’s the sketch from A Sketch for You to Try… yeah, if you tip your head to the left…maybe you can see it??? oh and sssstretch your imagination!!!  lol   I get a point for trying! lol

Happy Weekend to you and yours!  Tomorrow is Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge post!

Tilda on the Loose and Heartbreaker Edwin…

6a00e54faf4fdc883401348639dd6d970c-800wi

I’ve used Tilda on the Loose, See you Later, Suitcase with Sign from the Bon Voyage collection…the Waterfall background from the Pet Collection…and Heartbreaker Edwin.

All the images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic Sketch Markers.  Card-stock from Stampin Up,  pattern paper is a mat stack from DCWV.  The little strip with the country abbreviations is  covered with a piece of Tim Holtz filmstrip ribbon.  The border punch is from EK Success,  wish I’d written the names of the punches on them b/4 I threw away the packaging!

  • Tilda’s hair is colored with E50, YR31, YR21, 23
  • Edwin’s hair is colored with Y21, E97, E08, E19
  • skin is E000, 00, 01, R20
  • dress is R000, 00, 01, 02
  • suitcases are E11, 13, 15 and warm grays
  • Edwin’s clothes are colored over so many times I can’t remember,  trying to match the papers.

I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday Challenge blog.  The Sweet Stampin’ Challenge blog is wanting to see your favorite stamp… well,  that changes quite frequently with me but I do have to say I love this Tilda! Paper Play Challenges theme is Bon Voyage….very fitting for these Magnolia BonVoyage stamps! Stamp Something Challenge theme is Fairy Tale Somethings.

Trevor and the Sweet Stop Sketch…

Meet sitting Trevor from the new CC Designs Take a Seat Kit.  Trevor was masked and the birdbath/bench positioned/stamped with the stamp a ma jig. I have a tutorial on masking and positioning with the stamp a ma jig HERE.  Memento Tuxedo Black Ink for stamping and colored with Copic Sketch Markers. This kit guarantees hours of stamping/creating adorable cards and projects! I ♥ it!  I used the leaves and sentiment from CC Designs Fall kit from last year.  The Scene is diecut with the square nestabilities dies.  Papers are from Bo Bunny and card-stock from Prism. I used the Magnolia swirl die again,  gonna get my $$ out of that die! lol   The branch border punch is from Martha Stewart,  the paper cord from JoAnn’s and the leaf punch is an old Emagination brand punch.  I punched the leaves out of white card-stock, embossed veins and colored them with copic sketch markers. YR21 all over the leaf,  then from the bottom of the leaf up,  I stroked in E44, YG95, YR14 and leaving some YR21 at the top…retrace and blend with the color close to what you just colored!  Almost forgot…I used the Tim Holtz tiny attacher for stapling the cord in place.

This is my DT card for the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge Blog this week.  I am really enjoying being on this team… the sketches are challenging but very do-able!  Hope you can join us with week!  Lots of inspiration on the challenge blog!  Here’s this weeks sketch…

Also linking to the Alphabet Challenge Blog with a theme of “p” is for punches and If the Shoe Fits Challenge blog with a theme of diecuts…my square is a nestabilities die and I used the Magnolia swirl die.  Cute Card Thursday Challenge blog is trees or leaves.

Oh, he does make me smile… such a handsome little guy! lol  Happy Weekend and thanks for coming by!
