Tilda and Edwin….She said…He said….

I’m not a fishing lady but my DH loves to fish!  My Dad loved to fish too… I always made sure I had plenty of books to read if I had to go along! lol   So, maybe she said,  “let’s go home” and he said, “not until I catch something”!  Magnolia named this Edwin, “Waiting for Fish”!  That pretty much sums it up! lol

I LOVE these images… but you knew that!  *big grin*  This Sweet Rainbow collection is fabulous!

The branches at the top are from the new tree branch stamp… I just didn’t use the big branch part this time!  The dock is an Art Impressions rubber stamp… I need to get the Magnolia dock.  The Vacation filmstrip stamp is from Hero Arts and the HE SAID, SHE SAID stamps are from Technique Tuesday, Read all about it set.  I do love filmstrips… the next one I’m going to use is this cool new mini filmstrip die from MFT… in the store HERE.  I did the sky with another treasure that I unearthed from one of the piles I’ve been going through!  YEA!  It’s from Rosie’s Roadshow and I used the ink blending tool (tip – start on the stencil and move up and off the scallop edge) and Tumbled Glass Distress ink.

I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic sketch markers.  A lot of crazy coloring again…Hair – E50, YR21, 23,  24, 31, E27 (see,  I told you)…Skin – E000, 00, 21, R30 on Edwin and diluted R20 on Tilda for cheeks…Greens – YG91, 93,95, W1, 3…boots – E40’s and a little YG91 down the front/center…basket and tree branch – E30’s…Edwin’s shirt – B32,34, W0, 1…Tilda’s shirt – Ro2, 05…tree branch leaves – YG61, 63, 67, E42.

CC Designs June Release Review…

Today the All That Scraps DT gals are reviewing stamps for the June release on the ATS blog, HERE.  I used the new Amy R Magical Wishes set…very fun sentiments for in and out!

I used the new Magnolia Doohickey’s  flower petals die from the Butterfly Dreams Tree die set for my flower… cut three, layered them up and a Lasting Impressions brad in the center.   The leafy branch on the front is a Sizzix Sizzlet die,  the leafy branch on the inside is from the Magnolia Doohickey’s Bon Voyage Foliage set.

I used the October Afternoon Thrift shop 8×8 paper pad, flower paper is from the Campfire pad,  some SU stripe twill, some Technique Tuesday twill, some cotton cord, a button,  some flower trim I purchased on etsy a couple years ago (I found it when I was going through a pile a couple weeks ago – that’s why we make piles… it’s so fun to find stuff later!!! lol),  Hero Arts small pearls, another Magnolia Doohickey’s die from the Butterfly Dreams collection called Dream tag and a scallop circle nestabilities die.

Lots of jumping rope, swinging, biking, pogo sticks and hoola hoops in the neighborhood! lol  Tilda is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic Sketch Markers. Hair – E50, 55, 57,  Skin – E000, 00, 21 and diluted R20 for her cheeks,  romper – R20, 21, 22,  hoola hoop – R21, 22, 24, 59,  Shoes – B90’s and some W1, W3 over the top,  Grass – YG61, 63, 67, 99.   I used this super cute 6×6 paper pad by Crate Paper called “Neighborhood”,  in the store HERE.  The flower border is an EK Success border punch and I put Hero Arts gems in the centers.

Shabby Birdhouse Gift cards in a pizza box…

A “pizza box”!!! lol  Here’s how to make it on SCS,  HERE.  At first I couldn’t think of what to put inside but then it hit me that  4×4 gift cards and envelopes would be great in there!  I did make my box larger than the pattern on SCS. Mine is 4.5 x 4.5 finished and I used a 6.5 x 12 piece of double sided pattern paper from the Butterfly Garden by Pink Paislee collection.  I also used the 6×6 matching pad for “parts”.

Four gift cards and envelopes… I used my MS scoreboard envelope maker… LOVE that thing!  CC Designs rubber stamps… links below.

Close up of how I colored the birdhouse!  I wanted it to look really rustic…eek!  it does! lol  I used Distress ink pads and Ranger Cut ‘n Dry nibs and just colored it in… quite easy… vintage photo, walnut stain,  pumice stone, weathered wood, aged mahogany, peeled paint, pine needle, mustard seed…I had FUN!  I used a crackle stamp from Magenta on a couple of the stamped images and on the Swirly Butterfly die cut.

I thought it needed an easier way to get it open,  so I got out a circle punch and punched in a bit so it’s real easy to get open now.  *here’s a tip for you though*  Punch the circle before you tape/glue it into the box shape!  *’nother tip* STAMP before you tape/glue it into the box!!!  YEP,  rather tricky stamping on a flimsy box!
