La-La Land Crafts Challenge #23

Welcome to La-La’s Weekly Wednesday Challenge. This week Design Team member Kim has challenged us to make a gift card holder. I’m also playing along with the Mojo Monday challenge blog to follow a sketch and make a round card.

winterLaLaJan10

Winter LaLa is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with copic markers.  The photo below shows the colors I used.

The scallop circles were cut on the Cricut with the mini monograms cartridge.  The size dial set at 5.5 inches.  The inner circle I cut out of October Afternoon pattern paper,  with the coluzzle circle cutting system. Bazzill card-stock and Emagination snowflake punches (probably available from the Punch Bunch now), layered up to give a chipboard effect. The sentiment on the front and inside is one stamp that I  split up to use separately. Using Versafine Onyx black ink and the stampamajig (my extra right hand) I was able to position them both exactly where I wanted them.  It’s a new stamp from Printworks E4004, Smile your heart out!   I love it! I don’t think it’s on their retail site yet so if you’re ordering just add this number to the comment box or call in your order. Link to the retail site is in my blog sidebar.

Next photo is the inside of the card.  I used the Tim Holtz tiny attacher to staple the half scallop circle to the back scallop circle.  The front scallop circle is attached at the top with Tombow mono Multi adhesive.  I scored the top of the back sc. circle at approximately a half inch and that allows you to open the card.

I used a Martha Stewart snowfall border punch and the aspen snowflake corner punch for the snowflakes you see here.  I know…the only gift card I could find to stick in here as an example was from Cabelas!!! lol  yep,  DH loves to fish!  I color in the boat! lol  I do…it makes me nervous though…sure would hate to see my copics go overboard! lol  Two kinds of stickles on the snowflakes…frosted lace and platinum.

Have fun looking to see what the other Design Team members created…last week’s “fancy fold” cards were awesome!  We’d love to have you join us in the challenge this week….I hope to do better and get around to the blogs to see the entries.  A special offer at La-La Land Crafts – Buy three, get one FREE – between now and January 30th. Purchase three stamps from La-La Land Crafts online store and you will receive a FREE stamp of your choice!! Happy Winter or I should say Happy Weather! lol

A close up of the charm…I partially closed the card.  It does come all the way up to lay flat and fit in an A2 envelope!  I really like this idea and think I’ll be using it again.  You could really bling it up more for a girl and more for a boy too.  This was just all  I could come up with Sunday a.m.! lol

Sweet Tilda….

tildahandspocketjan10

  • Sweet Tilda gracing my Valentine card today!
  • The sentiment “Dear to my heart” is another awesome stamp from Printworks.  I inked it with Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored in the heart with R29 and R59 copics.
  • Tilda is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copic Sketch markers.
  • The dot pattern paper is from Sweetwater.
  • Just HAD to use my new Martha Stewart punches…love this sweetheart around the page set…although,  you do want to watch it carefully if you want it to look straight on your card…ack…don’t look so close! lol
  • The key hole heart and key are new from Martha also.  I punched four of each and layered them together so they look like chipboard…
  • The ribbon is from my collection.
  • The embossed heart is from a folder that came with my Cuttlebug.
  • I stamped the background, the heart border background, the heart lock and key all with Stampin Up’s Sanded background stamp…another stamp that just hangs out on my desk cuz I NEED it all the time! lol
  • Everything is edged, aged with Ranger,  Nick Bantock , Van Dyke brown ink.

I’m linking Tilda to

The ice is gone off the trees here.  Whew  – after three days of ice and electricity on and off,  I’m delighted that it warmed up and melted.  The trees look really barren now! Happy Weekend!

Birthday card for Lilli….

jan10
Pink….Lilli loves pink! So, I colored up this Lili (leelee) Fairy from Inky Impressions in ALL pink! I think she’ll like it!  I hope, she’ll love it!  The challenge right now at Inky Impressions Challenge blog is to use pink and hearts…gonna link up but I don’t have any hearts on here! bum…oh well,  we know these images are all “heart”! lol  Papertake Weekly Challenge blog is predominantly pink…well,  I nailed that and Cute Card Thursday’s challenge is fairy fantastic!

Here she is close up…SOOOOO CUTE! I love these Inky Lili stamps!

LilliB-daycloseJan10

She is stamped with Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored with copic sketch markers.  This is my first time to try the flourishy bling!  very cool!  I am surprised how easy it was to manipulate and get it in the right place!  I uesd the Spica clear glitter pen on her wings,  it’s so subtle,  the camera missed it! lol  I love the look IRL though…just the right touch.

The flowers are Nellie Snellen punches and embossers…very cool and available for pre-order at 7KidsCollegeFund.com.  They are from the Netherlands.

Here’s what I did inside…

10

There’s that Martha Stewart crown around the page corner… I used the border and corner punch set on the front.  The sentiment stamped on the front,  “Bright Wishes” and on the inside, “for a Birthday that outshines all the others“, in Versafine Onyx Black ink,  is from Printworks….tons of great birthday sentiments here... check out their clear stamp sets too….some of their images are available in both wood and clear!  I used the Stampamajig to get the placement of the Bright Wishes right where I wanted it on the front. Pearls are from Hero Arts.  Teeny brads on the front are from Bazzill (coming soon to 7Kids).  I think I purchased  the little silver things under the brads at JoAnns.  Thinking the ribbon is May Arts.
