Spellbinders October Stencil of the Month Club Card…

Hi everyone!  The stencil of the month club is so fun this month!  I used two of the stencils to make this background, the other stencils in the set make an ornament background.  So fun.  I could’ve use this design on the ornaments too.  Ppl come up with the greatest ideas!  I need to make another card! lol

Curious about the Spellbinders Monthly Clubs? I love how they are set up… join and cancel anytime but most of the time you’re gonna want them! lol  Check them out HERE!

I just used ink pads and inked through the stencils in red and then in green on white cardstock.  It was so white I had to age it with Vintage Photo Distress ink and a blending brush, than the very edge with Walnut Stain Distress ink.  I love this look!  Smiling… I know you’re remembering this about me. lol

I die cut the Holly branch twice and glued them together, then cut a bunch of berries from the Poinsettia Spray die set.

I didn’t like it directly on the stenciled panel so I cut a piece of vellum and aged it with Vintage Photo Distress ink also.  I mounted the holly branch to the vellum with the thin mounting tape I love, linked below.  Then I used glue on the back for the vellum on the areas the branch and leaves covered so you wouldn’t see the glue from the front.

The sentiment is from the Christmas Sentiments Betterpress Plate and Die set.  I foiled it though with gold foil on red cardstock.  So pretty!

I wish I could show you in person because it’s so much more vintage/antique looking IRL!  In the photos it looks white but it’s not.  It’s so nice to be able to take photographs of everything but they never do the real thing complete justice. lol   I love it!

Have a great rest of the weekend friends and cardmakers!  Thankful for every minute.  A horrible car/tractor accident a couple miles from our small city last night.  So awful.  Just four years ago it was our youngest daughter that died this month.  I’m probably more sensitive to it this month.

My wonderful husband just made me some more shelves so I’m rearranging and need to sort and re-bin this 30 year collection of stuff! I get to work and forget I need to be doing other things too!

I’m don’t like facing the fact that I’m a stamp/die/paper addict! lol  Fortunately it’s the only thing I collect!  whew! lol!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Enjoy every moment!

  1. I love how this stencil turns out. I watched a video and it’s pretty cool. Perfect for the vintage/retro look you’ve got going on here. The vellum is a good idea for setting off the holly just enough. I read to the end and I know your heartache never goes away entirely, and something like the accident brings it back fresh. As you say, thankful for every minute. Hooray for more shelves! Has it been 30 years? Thinking back… yes, geez. I need to do something about my room, too.

  2. I really love how you stacked the two dies together – such a beautiful card Pam, and what a great sentiment too in the gold on red!!

I love hearing from you! Thank YOU!
