Hi cardmakers and friends…back again today with a card for Memory Box. I’ve been wanting to get this NEW Floral Heart colored up from the Friendship Floral Heart stamp set and finally did this week! YAY!
I stamped and heat embossed with versamark ink and Ranger Gold Detail embossing powder. *TIP: I recommend stamping clear stamps several times with different inks on scrap paper to get them stamping good…maybe it’s just me but after stamping 7 practice times or so, I’m much happier when I stamp the real deal.
Oh, I stamped on Canson Smooth Bristol… the orange pad. I colored with Zig Clean Color Brush markers… photo below of the colors.
I used water and a paintbrush to move the color around…basic watercoloring, drying between layers.
Then a little spritz of water, some white and gold spatters. I wasn’t very heavy handed with them this time.
The background is Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink blended on with a TE brush then some Peacock Feather Oxide spatters, some gold spatters and some black TE watercolor spatters over that.
It’s a 5 ½ inch square card.
I was tempted to place it off the page and made an A2 size card but I resisted and left it complete this time… next time! lol
I stamped the sentiments from the same set on vellum… don’t die of shock but I used an acrylic block this time to stamp! I’m gonna experiment… I love all my stamp positioning tools but I struggle with heat embossing sentiments with a positioner! :O I know… do you have an opinion? curious!
I’m gonna let you go and get on with your Saturday! Thank you so much for stopping by and letting me show and tell!
Here’s what I used to make this card…

Beautiful card Pam. I love the color combo. And the vellum strip is so classy. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful card and coloring Pam.
Absolutely stunning!
Gorgeous coloring, glad you kept it whole!
absolutely gorgeous
Such a beautiful card!!!! I am busy working on Valentine’s card and this would be so pretty!!! I don’t think I could do any where near as special as yours!!!
Oh Pam this is stunning! Your watercoloring is so pretty!! I love the gold embossing too! I’m glad you used the whole thing! I wouldn’t have been able to cut any off either!
OMGoodness this is stunning, Pam! The colors are gorgeous, the splatters perfect and the sentiment is wonderful too. I guess I’d need to see what exactly is the problem when stamping sentiments to have an opinion, but I do agree with “priming” your stamps prior to the real thing! Michele F told me a trick to use a basic white eraser and rub it gently on the stamp then dust off, and it works perfect!
Oh what a pretty card Pam! I love this! I have the Zig markers, but really haven’t experimented too much with them…..someday! I found that if I take a dry microfiber cloth and rub my new stamps, that they seem to stamp much better. The other thing I found is that if I just take my fingers and rub over the stamp that that also works. I don’t seem to have trouble heat embossing, except with white on black paper. I can never seem to get a good clean sentiment. I’ve tried everything….oh well, I’ll just stick to my other colors of embossing powder. LOL! Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful card!
Gosh, it’s pretty! Your watercolor is beautiful. It looks die cut, but I guess that’s just your cutting expertise. So lovely! I finally ordered a MISTI yesterday — the mini (with case) — so I do not yet have any experience.
Gorgeous! Would love to have some zig markers!
Pam this is absolutely incredible!! The splatters are mesmerizing – you make me want to go color!!!!
