I love you this much!

The challenge this week on the Just Magnolia blog is Animals and Insects – please feature either/or on your card. The animal or insect does not have to be a Magnolia image – or even a stamp, it could be a die cut, a punch out, a charm, shaped button – anything as long as it is an animal or insect.IMG_2552

Well….I’m probably stretching it here because my ladybugs are pretty small…I tried to use the Magnolia ladybug but it just didn’t work out like I planned!  I used the new EK Success bug punch and they did turn out pretty cute…took a little fiddling to get them to look like something other than a punch out!

I used grass,  fern,  corner flower and stem punches from the Punch Bunch.  The yellow ric rac is from Making Memories.  Tilda is from Magnolia of Sweden and colored with copic markers.   “You are my sunshine” is from Wordsworth.  I used a rectangle nestabilities die for the background.

Here’s a close up of the flowers and bugs!IMG_2555Thanks for taking the time to check out my entry and I appreciate your encouraging words!!!

Vintage Christmas Tags

I just added a new page to my blog.  At the top you’ll see a new tab…TAGS or at the side under pages you’ll find the same page name.   I made a gallery of some tags my daughter and I created last year for Christmas.  This link will take you there too…

By Train & Owls

Coming to the USA!

well, it really wasn’t by train but by plane! Our newest grandson is from Ukraine! I had to make a “so glad you’re here” card for him. A delightful two year old that loves trains!!!henrystrainMartha Stewart’s wonderful train punches and the checkerboard border punch for the track. I punched five trains and glued them together to get a chipboard effect, same w/the cloud punch.

Square Nestabilities used to make the embossed frame.

My favorite Owl cardsovalInkadinkado Owl clear stamp,  All Night Media wood grain (I purchased mine at Michaels),SU word & sanded background stamps,  Rubber Soul – eyes stamp,  Nestabilites oval dies, QK flower, twill and We R Memory Keepers pattern paper.owlVS2Chatterbox pattern paper…

Just Magnolia – Shaped Card

Vrrrroooom! The challenge this week at Just Magnolia is to make a shaped card – nothing square! Here’s what I came up with…Edwin is driving now!IMG_2515

The car folded in half into a card….IMG_2508

The card open…

I think it will fit into a A7 envelope the best…

The car is cut on the Cricut with the Graphically Speaking cartridge….some really cool things on this cartridge!  Now to go look and see what everyone else came up with!

Close up of the Quickutz mini vegies…

aren't they cute!
aren't they cute!

I used Fleuriste pattern paper from Cosmo Cricket and Bazzill Card-stock for the vegies and leaves. The bottom “romaine” is an old leaf punch from Emagination Crafts, no longer in business. I would think, the Punch Bunch or another punch company would have the same image or something similar though. Computer generated phrase – kindergarten is the font.
I like to put lines on my dies with the embossing tool and a mouse pad, to make the pieces look like more than just a die cut or punch out. The carrot does have pen lines. I edge everything w/stamp pad ink and the Tim Holtz blending tool.
Thanks for coming by and remember….EAT those VEGIES!!!
