Hi cardmakers and friends! How about some paper hydrangeas to hold me over until we have some real life ones! I have to tell you, it’s looking good for some flowers from our 3 new bushes we planted last year though. whew.
So a simple thinking of you card using Stampendous Hydrangea Garden stamp and die sets.
I used a piece of Smooth Bristol card from a 9 x 12 pad, cut to 4 ⅝ inches x 12 inches.
Stamp and heat emboss the Hydrangea, in white, at one end, then die cut stopping at the wide part of the flower stamp. The leaves are separate from the flower head, so I did have to glue them on underneath.
I stamped and die cut 2 extra of the single flower in the set and popped up one on the front and used the other inside… I love it there! Looks like it just landed there! hehe
I colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a little water.
The sentiment is gold embossed and from the Stampendous Fresh Peony Cling Stamp set. Sorry the sentiment is blurry…It was hard to get a picture because the flower end kinda sticks up a bit. It’s so pretty IRL!

Absolutely beautiful. Is the sentiment part of the card front? I love hydrangeas and once had several oak leaf varieties where I was living at the time. Even when I was in Maine, the local McDonald’s had gorgeous white ones growing up the exterior wall and they had beautiful heart-shaped leaves. Nicest Mickey D’s I ever saw. We used to summer in Ocean City, NJ when I was little and most hydrangeas were the blue-purple ones – soil/sand-related I guess. They are all gorgeous, no matter what color, and while I am not a summer/heat fan, I love the flowers and shrubs it brings. This is an amazing card and I am sure the recipient will be delighted. Two more things to add to my wish list! Thank you for sharing not only the card but the details too. Much appreciated. (So glad it is not a video). Your blog posts always make me smile. Now I have to look into all the previously unknown to me goodies you mentioned at the end of the post.

What a beautiful hydrangea, Pam, and how wonderfully well you’ve watercoloured it! This card is absolutely stunning. I love that it’s a tri-fold since it unfolds to give a person a lovely length upon which to write. Adding that extra blossom to the bottom of the inside really finishes it off.
