Another Honey beatin’ the heat!

Lesa challenged the Design team for All That Scraps Weekly Wednesday Challenge Blog to a color challenge this week….so you get to be challenged next!  This one sent me searching through my cropper hopper paper holders for awhile…. light yellow,  light blue and pumpkin!!!  This paper is an old set from Chatterbox… the sketch I used is from The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge Blog.

I have another Honey card to post this week and a Tilda from Magnolia too!

♥♥♥You’ll see I have a new widget in my sidebar…. pause for a FAMILY MINUTE! lol   Tim and I have three married daughters,  our middle daughter Amanda and son-in-law Tim, have adopted two children from Ukraine, one in Oct. 08 and one in Oct. 09.  They are in the process of adopting two children from Bulgaria this year.  It is amazing and the children are delightful.  They change so fast once they have loving parents, a home, nutritious food and supplements. And of course grandparents!!!  We are so proud of them! Our daughters Heather and Breanna are working to help them with a new blog Adoption Miracles.  If you have time to visit,  I’m sure meeting Henry and Anya will make you smile.  We are anxious to meet Gloria and Mihail (Reece’s Rainbow changes their names when they put them on their website – safety precaution)  later this year also!  Thanks again for stopping by and sharing the love of stamping,  family and friends!

A Splendid Adventure….

Honey Sailor is setting out to travel/explore…a Splendid Adventure!

This week for All That Scraps Weekly Wednesday Challenge blog,  Janneke created a sketch for us to follow.  Thanks to Janneke’s inspiration and ideas, I’m learning to love using sketches!  I started from the base up for today’s card.  Picked three colors of Bazzill monochromatic card-stocks, my favorite ever kraft and set out to conquer this sketch challenge!  Yep a splendid adventure indeed…I had fun! lol

We’d LOVE to have you join us in the challenge this week…here is what you’ll want to know to play…

  • your card must include a stamp that is sold in the All That Scraps store
  • one entry per person
  • you have until 10 p.m. EST Tuesday June 1st to load to Mr. Linky on the challenge blog
  • use Janneke’s sketch on your card or project
  • Have FUN!

I stamped Honey Sailor from CC Designs with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Copic Sketch Markers.  Cuttlebug 2×6 dies for the beach elements….EK Success border punch.  A Splendid Adventure is a Stampers Anonymous stamp…Explore and Travel are from a set by PSX all stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink.  I stamped the Sanded background stamp from Stampin Up with Walnut Stain distress ink on the kraft card-stock and elements.  The papers are all edged with Walnut Stain distress ink and the ink blending tool. I “always” work on the craft mat so the ink goes onto the paper from the mat so easily,  much better than working on scrap paper!  really,  it’s amazing and you use less ink and faster!!!  I scored my card base with Martha Stewart’s score board…love it!  So accurate!

Tab has added new stamps this week!!!   CC Designs (Adorable Darby and Penelope that I did last week, Honey and Swiss Pixies and more),  Whiff of Joy and you can pre-order the June, Bon Voyage issue of the Magnolia Ink too! 10% off her already discounted prices! LOVE that! ♥♥♥

Here’s Honey waving good-bye for now!

Now…on to my masking and positioning tutorial! FINALLY!  I’ve been thinking of doing this forever! Holler if you have any questions. (photos will all enlarge if you click)

1. Start by stamping your main image on your card-stock and on a piece of Eclipse tape (thin paper with adhesive on the back,  wonderful for masking because it is so thin)…

2. Next you will want to cut out the image you stamped on the Eclipse tape,  CUT ON THE INSIDE OF THE STAMPED LINE, when you place this mask over your image you want to barely see the stamped line of the image you stamped on the card-stock,  trust me,  you want to!!!  I only needed to cut out her bottom half for this card.

3.  Peel the backing off your mask and place it over the image you stamped on your card-stock.

Take your Stamp a ma jig and place the imaging sheet into the corner just like you see in the photo. (the imaging sheet is translucent plastic,  a little rough on one side,  stamp on the rough side)

Ink up your stamp and stamp it on the imaging sheet while holding the stamp a ma jig in place with your left hand. Making sure the imaging sheet stays tucked into the  corner.

Another “trust me”,  you get good at this the more you do it and will never stamp again without it! It is so nice to stamp things right where you want them in the first place!

Your imaging sheet will look like this…

4. Now you are ready to stamp your fence OVER the little girl image…gear up your courage…hehe…

Place your imaging sheet w/the fence stamped on it over the little girl and move it around until you find where you want to stamp it.

Hold the imaging sheet down with your right hand and with your left hand bring the Stamp a ma jig up to the bottom left corner and fit it to the imaging sheet,  making sure it fits perfectly, keeping the fence right where you want it.

5. Ink the fence stamp again….with your left hand hold that Stamp a ma jig right in place and “take away the imaging sheet”.

Bring the fence stamp up to the Stamp a ma jig (left hand still holding it in place),  making sure the block is fitting right into the corner straight on… I touch it to the stamp a ma jig and then take it down to stamp the card-stock… it will make sense as soon as you do it.

The finished stamped image…ready to color!

Can’t wait to hear how you get along with this… I hope you try it and love it as much as I do!!!  I have every stamp positioner that was ever created and I LOVE this stamp a ma jig… it is so easy and the non slip base is part of the reason it works so great.  I buy extra imaging sheets but for the most part I just clean them off after I finish…sometimes I even use it for stamping names with alphabets… a letter in each corner of the sheet…however many sheets it takes…it really is slick!!!  I LOVE it!   My stamp a ma jig is one of the original ones,  now they are a light tealish color…

Have a great rest of the week – stamping off!
