Hi and happy June 1st already! I have a couple cards to share today using the latest Taylored Expressions release.
I used the Block Party Dad die in a little different way. I didn’t die cut it, I embossed it by running it through the Big Shot with the Spellbinders tan embossing mat and then inked it all over with Distress ink and the ink blending tool.
I die cut the Wispy Grass Border die, the Build a Scene – on the road die, the NEW On the Road – Truck die and the Little Bits – Lawn Mower die. Layered them up to make the scene.
I die cut the truck window in vellum…stamped the sentiment from the NEW stamp set Keep on Truckin’ on white card-stock and edged it with Salty Ocean Distress ink and the ink blending tool.
One more Dad card…
Here I made a watercolor piece with the Block Party – DAD die cut embossed and then masked off. I spritzed the WC panel with water and used the Ken Oliver Color Burst powders…it kinda looked ‘earthy’ in the end so I used the NEW the World is Waiting die set and the NEW Best in the World stamp set.
I’m still not sure about this card… if it’s ‘blog worthy’ or not! lol In the end, I decided to post it because I had the truck card too. hehe It kinda grew on me!
Thanks for stopping by today! ‘preciate it so much and it’s always good to hear from you! I’m sure a lot of you have busy Summers planned!
Taylored Expressions products I used…
Great cards Pam – I liked your water color one the best!!

Love the truck die with fun sentiment on your first card! And, the second card with the color burst background is amazing! Both make for great Father’s Day cards!:-)
Really neat DAD truck scene!! I am still trying to wrap my head around the water coloring – but your’s turned out pretty neat. I always think mine just look like blobs……ha ha!! Happy June 1st to you too.
The truck card is great! Putting in the lawnmower handle was a cool idea. The second card is interesting. I’ve use color burst and never can plan on anything. It’s always a mystery whatever comes out. Yours looks great.
Hi Pam,
Love this card. I’m a lover of trucks. I’ve always loved trucks since I was a kid. My dad took me to the dump with him in a big truck. It was so fun, I was hooked. Hee, hee. I’ve own a few trucks in my life and my first truck was a 1957 GMC, that my dad help me buy. So, this card brings some good memories. If my dad were still alive I would make a card just like this one you made and send it to him. Incidentally, is that my lawn mower I see in back of your truck? Hee, Hee! Great Father”s Day card Pam.
these are both very artistic and great masculine cards pam! i finally caved and bought some ken oliver powders; just need time and energy to play with them.
You did a great job with the Color Burst! I just can’t seem to get the hang of this stuff 😦 Wish we lived close enough for a tutorial! Great cards, my friend, as always. Hope your week is going well! Good to be home, but oh my gosh – am so busy trying to catch up on things! Hugs…
Love these Pam. The truck is my favorite…
Love the truck card – with the lawn mower in the back. Great job. I’ve got the brusho colors and it really depends what comes out is what I try and create around. You did a super job on both.
Super cute cards. I like the truck the best.
They are both so cute! I don’t know which one I like better! I love the die cuts, but I love the how the Color Bursts show such a different pattern! I have never tried the Color Bursts but have seen a lot of different cards where they have been used! Cute cards! 🙂
Love the fun scene you made with the truck, the vellum in the window is a neat touch. Like the embossed Dad too! Those color burst does give quite the earthy look to it, very cool!
Fantastic cards! Can’t decide which I like best. Both are perfect!!
My favorite is the truck card. I pinned it. Regarding the color bursts making an earth terrain effect – it sure does. Kind of threw me at first though because of the world die cut. I was expecting to see deep space behind the world.
Both cards are equally lovely… but very different from each other!
I finally got my Brushos out this week. I heard about those first, so I don’t have the Colour Bursts as yet. Maybe one day…
WOW!!! Pam, both cards are fabulous for Dad. The second one is my favorite. Super cool galaxy background!
