American History Month – the Civil War

Heart of Dixie

Heart of Dixie

My last swap for the month of February was last night…this is the atc I created for it…

We home educated our three daughters for nine years and I enjoyed reading their books more than they did!

Irene Hunt, her book  Across Five Aprils   is one about the Civil War,  someday I’ll read it again!

The stamps used on this atc are from Oxford Impressions

Friends of the Freezing Kind

I do love snowmen and as our new grandson would say,  “Dep,  I do!” !!!

Friends....talkin' in a Winter Wonderland

Annette Allen Watkins, the artist behind the Printworks Collection rubber stamp company,  has drawn so many  snowman stamps over the years and I have loved them all!  This trio of snowmen stamp is probably going to end up as one of my faves though!  And then the white ice skates,  so fun…you’ve already read about my fond ice skating memories…*grin*

Cuttlebug snowflakes…brrrrr!

Nature’s butterfly

The swap card theme for stamp club this month is NATURE….I saw Shari’s butterfly card on Hero Arts blog and had to give it a try, even though I didn’t have the new Hero stamps.

Winter Wonder ATC
Winter Wonder ATC

I love this skating couple from the Stampin Up Winter Post set!  Colored w/copic markers…email me if you want to know what colors I used and I’ll try to remember!

The winter, wonder and snowflake stamps are more stamps to LOVE from Close to My Heart…stamped in Adirondack espresso ink.

The trees….another stamp to love from PSX but I think Inkadinkado has it now.

oh,  don’t forget!  Always have to add the Stampin Up sanded background stamp in Van Dyke brown!   I love that brown for edging too!

Winter Pleasure or brrrr,  is how I think now!  We went ice skating almost every weekend in the Winter when I was growing up…or sledding…lots of fun memories!

Wednesday Stamper

using hearts in a different way….maybe this card works?!

Last year,  I saw this technique somewhere…I used one of the small flower embossing folders on the edge of the heart and then a little bit of a larger A2 size embossing folder for the words on the heart.
